Delta State Commissioner of Police, CP Abaniwonda Olufemi on Wednesday 22nd May 2024 presented the DPO Ekpan Police Station, CSP Aliyu Shaba to the governor of Delta State Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori
Shaba was bestowed with the DPO of the Year and Police Officer of the Year award at the maiden Nigeria Police Award and commendation, that took place on 15th April 2024 in Abuja.
The CP noted that it was pertinent to present the DPO and the awards to the governor, as the chief security officer in the state. He buttressed that, the command and the DPO could not have recorded such achievements if not for the support of the Governor, and the good people of Delta State.
Governor Sheriff Oborevwori in his remark congratulated the DPO for his exemplary performances, noting that there is always a reward for hard work. He also noted that, Ekpan was a very hot zone and a comfortable place for criminals, but since CSP Aliyu Shaba was posted there, complete sanity has been restored to the area, and that, residents in Ekpan are now sleeping with their two eyes closed.
The governor tasked other officers to emulate CSP Shaba’s dedication to duty.
He also thanked the CP for giving CSP Shaba and other officers of the command the necessary support and platform to perform.
The Governor presented a cash gift to CSP Shaba urging him to do more in line with the popular saying: “The reward for hard work is more work”
