The Ogun State Police Command, under the leadership of the Commissioner of Police, CP Bode Ojajuni, has recorded multiple operational successes across the state within an 11-day period through effective policing, targeted operations and proactive enforcement.
Among the highlights are the arrest of 11 suspects, recovery of 2 suspected stolen vehicles, 3 firearms, 25 ATM cards, multiple mobile phones and assorted electrical materials, as well as the impoundment of 8 vehicles for obstruction of traffic.
The arrests involved Rasheed Abdul ‘M’, Saula Meshinoye ‘M’, Mutiu Gafar ‘M’, aged 19 years, Fatai Obasanmi ‘M’, aged 37 years, Olamide Ayandele ‘M’, aged 30 years, Tope Samuel ‘M’, aged 40 years, Ayo Peter Ojo ‘M’, aged 30 years, Ameachine Anthony ‘M’, aged 45 years, Peter Olanrewaju ‘M’, aged 34 years, Adebayo Sodiq ‘M’, aged 36 years, and Olatunji Olalekan
Following a complaint lodged on 16 September 2026, detectives attached to Owode Egba Division, acted on information received and recovered a stolen commercial TVS motorcycle at Mokoloki Village on 17 September 2026.
Two suspects, Rasheed Abdul ‘M’ and Saula Meshinoye ‘M’, were arrested in connection with the alleged theft, while an accomplice, Saheed ‘M’, remains at large.
Investigation is ongoing, with efforts underway to apprehend the fleeing suspect.
On 19 September 2026, operatives of Olorunda Division intercepted three persons along Ayetoro Road while conveying suspected stolen electrical materials on a motorcycle.
Two suspects, Mutiu Gafar ‘M’, aged 19 years, and Fatai Obasanmi ‘M’, aged 37 years, were arrested, while Tosin ‘M’ escaped.
Recovered items included bundles of electrical wiring, a change-over electrical box and a circuit breaker box, allegedly stolen from a residence in the area.
Investigation is ongoing, while efforts continue to apprehend the fleeing suspect.
On 21 September 2026, SWAT operatives from Base 7, Abule-Iroko, arrested Olamide Ayandele ‘M’, aged 30 years, Tope Samuel ‘M’, aged 40 years, and Ayo Peter Ojo ‘M’, aged 30 years, after intercepting an unregistered tricycle and an unregistered TVS motorcycle around Dalemo, Ota.
Preliminary investigation linked the suspects to alleged vehicle theft around the Ijoko axis. Efforts are ongoing to identify and apprehend other persons who may be connected with the alleged activities.
On 22 September 2026, Igbesa Division arrested Ameachine Anthony ‘M’, aged 45 years, in connection with an alleged ₦2.5 million fraud.
Twenty-five ATM cards and multiple mobile phones were recovered.
Preliminary investigation indicates an alleged scheme involving utility bills and newly acquired SIM cards used through associates to facilitate bank accounts, after which the ATM cards were allegedly collected for fraudulent transactions.
The suspect and exhibits have been transferred to SCID, Eleweran, for further investigation.
Also on 22 September 2026, SWAT operatives arrested Peter Olanrewaju ‘M’, aged 34 years, following information concerning a suspected cult-related gathering.
Further investigation led to the arrest of Adebayo Sodiq ‘M’, aged 36 years, and the recovery of one pump-action rifle and two locally made pistols.
Investigation is continuing to establish the circumstances surrounding the possession of the firearms and to identify other persons who may be connected with the case.
Detectives of the Ijebu-Ode Area Crime Office recovered a Safira vehicle reportedly taken from its owner and arrested Olatunji Olalekan ‘M’, following discreet investigation, intelligence gathering and tracking.
The vehicle has been secured as an exhibit, while investigation continues to establish the circumstances surrounding its disappearance and recovery.
On 26 September 2026, personnel of the Sagamu Area Command and adjoining divisions conducted a “No Parking” operation around the Sagamu Interchange Bridge.
Eight vehicles found obstructing the highway were impounded to facilitate free traffic flow and improve safety for road users.
The affected vehicles are to be processed for prosecution on 28 September 2026, while similar enforcement operations will continue as necessary.
