Many journalists have ignorantly reported that the present Force Secretary, AIG Mrs Yetunde Longe, is the first female Force Secretary. It is not true.
The first female Force Secretary was Mrs Cecilia Bisi Ugowe, before she was elevated to the rank of Deputy Inspector-General of Police (DIG) in charge of Directorate of Finance and Administration in 1990.
The next female Force Secretary was Mrs Wushishi, followed by AIG Mrs Iyamabor.
The current Force Secretary is the 4th.
