An Assistant Superintendent of Police ASP (names withheld) was said to have been lynched by hoodlums in Lagos yesterday Saturday afternoon.
The SUPREME lgathered that, there was a fatal motor accident at about 1pm along WEMCO Road Ogba, where a truck knocked down a motorcyclist (Okada rider) who died on the spot.
A police patrol team from Pen Cinema Police Division, was said to have rushed to the scene with a view to arresting the truck driver from escaping.
A source at the scene told The SUPREME that,
“suddenly hoodlums from nowhere surge around the police patrol team, and in a heated argument the officer was attacked and killed.”
It was not immediately known how the hoodlums killed the officer.
We also learnt that, during the attack, the truck driver escaped with the truck.
We also learnt that, the two corpses were taken to the police station and later deposited in a mortuary.
Spokesman of the.command, SP Benjamin Hundeyin could not confirm the ugly incidence. We sent him an sms and WhatsApp messages last night, and called today, but he did not respond.
