2027: Benue Deputy Speaker Mobilises Constituents For Ongoing CVR Exercise

From Peter Vandev- Makurdi

Mrs Lami Danladi, Deputy Speaker, Benue State House of Assembly, (BNHA,) has called on the people of the state, particularly, her constituents of Ado State Constituency to ensure they come out in their numbers for the ongoing Continuous Voters’ Registration (CVR), exercise.

The Deputy Speaker who said she has already commenced the mobilisation of her Constituents to ensure that they get registered noted that their voters’ cards was their sure way through which to return the state governor, Hyacinth Alia, back to office in 2027.

Danladi who disclosed this while fielding questions from journalists in Makurdi, also hailed the leadership style of the new Speaker of the Assembly, Alfred Emberga, urging her colleagues in the House to support the speaker in the task before him.

She argued that Emberga who has started on a sound footing, would perform well if he gets the backing of his colleagues, adding that based on her observations, the lawmakers were so far happy with the way he was running the affairs of the House.

Describing Emberga, as a person, Danladi, she believes that the speaker of the assembly would come out with enduring laws, including laws that would be beneficial to women and youth in the state.

On how far she has gone towards mobilizing her constituents, the Deputy Speaker stated that she has set up some committees across the 10 council wards of her Constituency, and was also making further arrangements of providing them with 10 motorcycles to ease their movement to the INEC offices for the exercise.

According to Danladi, “As a woman, am a mobilizer, and immediately the exercise began, I set up a committee across the 10 council wards of Ado LGA. I asked them to call all our supporters to go down to INEC office to do the registration so that they can have their PVCs.

“The PVC is their weapon because that is what they are going to use to vote our governor, His Excellency, Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Alia for second term come 2027.

“They (constituents) also raised the issue of mobility. We have made arrangements for motorcycles that would move them. We are talking about taking 10 motorcycles to each ward because we have a lot of followers.

“The arrangements have already been concluded to purchase the motorcycles so that we can share to our campaign coordinators because we still maintain the structures we had during the 2023 elections and those are the people we are still working with”, she stated.
