Operatives of the Enugu State Police Command attached to the Anti-Cultism Sub-Unit of the Violent Crime Response Unit (VCRU) have, in separate intelligence-led operations, arrested a wanted armed robbery suspect and recovered a suspected stolen vehicle, a motorcycle, hard drugs, phones, and other incriminating exhibits.

The SUPREME learnt that on 6th May 2026, the operatives, while on crime prevention patrol and acting on credible intelligence, stormed the Nkwubor axis of Emene, Enugu State, where a suspected drug peddler popularly known as “Doc” fled on sighting the operatives, abandoning his shop and a red Mate 90 ladies motorcycle.

The police were said to have recovered from the scene the motorcycle, wraps of substances suspected to be cocaine, large quantities of substances suspected to be variants of cannabis sativa, sachets of tramadol, and other substances suspected to be hard drugs. Other exhibits recovered include seven assorted mobile phones, one wristwatch, one black bag, and the sum of Eight Thousand Naira (₦8,000.00).

In a separate operation on 30th April 2026, the operatives arrested one Uchenna Ezeh aged 34, at Amagu-Ugwu Road, Amechi Awkunanaw, Enugu. He was said to have been placed on wanted kist over an armed robbery case under investigation.
The suspect, a commercial mini-bus driver operating within the Garriki axis, confessed and led operatives to a mechanic workshop, where a stolen white Toyota Hiace Bus inscribed “Morning Flight Nigeria Limited” and with registration number NSK 643 ZY, was recovered while undergoing vandalisation.

Efforts to arrest the fleeing suspect are ongoing, while investigations into both cases have commenced. The arrested suspect will be arraigned in court upon the conclusion of investigations.

The Commissioner of Police, Mamman Bitrus Giwa, commended the operatives for the operational successes and reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to proactive policing and sustained efforts to rid Enugu State of criminal elements. He urged residents to remain law-abiding, vigilant, and supportive of the Police with credible and actionable information.

Spokesman for the Command SP Daniel Ndukwe confirmed the story.
