ln what could bb described as cowardice or wisdom, President Buhari has appealed to the N’Delta Militants to shelve any plan capable of causing blood bath or disunity of the country.
The N’Delta Minister who made the appeal on behalf of the federal government disclosed this in the federal government radio network news at 10pm that payment of allowances to ex-militants will begin on August 1st.
The N’Delta Avengers (militants) had boasted that on August 1st they will declare a Republic. Either Niger Delta Republic or Republic of Niger Delta.
Over the weekend Ijaw leaders & elders converged in Chief Edwin Kiagbodo Clark home in Kiagbodo Warri, Delta State where they held a meeting over militancy. Clark read a communique appealing to the militants from declaring a Republic.
