Benue State police command says, as part of effort to clamp down on proliferation of fire arms in Benue State, the stare Command has intensified intelligence gathering on arm manufacturers.
The state Commissioner of Police CP Emmanuel Adesina briefing journalists disclosed that on Monday 04/03/2024 a team of Operation Zenda JTF invaded an arm manufacturing hideout at Amahundu, Nanev, Kwande Local Government Area and arrested the following suspects;
Terer Terfa aka “Gadafi” 24 yrs
Aondonaugen Tse-aa 36 yrs,
Torkuma Iorlaha 27 yrs
Hangeior Atim 25 yrs
Tyav Terwase 35 yrs
Gundu Gbagbogum 50 yrs
Terwase Shimashan 20 yrs
Terese Terver aka “Gbatiir” 18 yrs all of various addresses in Kwande Local Government Area and Adinga Ramseydihno 33 years from Republic of Cameroon.
The SUPREME learnt that, the suspects confessed to be involved in manufacturing, local arms also sales and export of such arms.
Police says exhibits recovered from them include; eight Barretta pistols under fabrication, one fabricated AK47 rifle, ten AK47 live ammunition, five Barretta Pistol ammunition, four welding gas cylinders and other fabricating materials. Investigation is ongoing to unravel the source of their raw material and other possible hideouts. Criminal are therefore warn to desist from such act or face the consequences.
