The battle for Lagos State Police Command has finally ended as the Inspector-General of Police (IGP) Usman Alkali Baba has deployed COmmissioner of Police (CP) Abiodun Sylvester Alabi to take over Lagos Police command from out going Lagos police boss, AIG Hakeem Odumosu on Monday January 24, 2022
This is because Odumosu who was promoted three weeks ago from the rank of CP to the next rank of Assistant Inspector-General (AIG) of Police by Police Service Commission (PSC) will formerly retire next week Wednesday.
A signal from office of the Inspector-General of Police (IGP) Alkali Usman Baba today with reference number , TH.5361/FS/FHQ/ABJ directed that Abiodun Alabi is deployed to Lagos with effect from 24/01/22
The signal also indicated that two CPs are also deployed to Benue State and Yobe states.
Meanwhile AIG Odumosu is deployed AIG Federal Operations.
The SUPREME exclusively earlier reported that two CPs were most favoured on the chess board one of which would succeed Odumosu.
They are Delta State CP, Ali Mohammed Ari, from Nasarawa State and CP Abiodun Sylvester Alabi formerly CP Bauchi but was last month deployed to Force Headquarters Abuja. He hails from Ekiti State,
We reported also that, though Mohamned, had served in various capacities in Lagos State like Odumosu and knows Lagos terrain like his palm, Lagos State governor Babajide Sanwo Olu was more dispose to CP Alabi.
Alabi once served as DPO in Lagos then as Mobile Squadron Commander in two different Mobile Squadrons also in Lagos exposing him to know Lagos terrain like his palm.
He was later moved to Bayelsa and Taraba states as a DCP.
