Aruga Joe Omokaro – Abuja
The stress of the nationwide strike which began today, may have been responsible for the collapse of a Deputy Commissioner of Police, DC Mohammed Guri, (DC Police Mobile Force) at the Force Headquarters, Abuja today.
The SUPREME learnt that, DC Guri collapsed just as he was entering his office this morning.
He was said to have died before help could come his way. He is said to have hailed from Kano State. And his corpse already taken to Kano this evening.
We reported exclusively earlier today that, some senior police officers held a marathon meeting last night that lasted till about 11pm brainstorming on how to curtail the strike.
However, it was not immediately known if DC Buri was among the officers who worked late yesterday evening.
Force spokesman Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Olumuyiwa Adejobi could not be reached to confirm our story. He has blocked the phone number and WhatsApp of the Editor of The SUPREME. His unprofessional action may not be unconnected with the exclusive story of the policemen gruesomely murdered by bandits in Uggelli, Delta State early this year.
The police authority had concealed the gruesome murder of the policemen from the public, while that of the soldiers also at Uggelli, was given wide publicity until The SUPREME published the sad incident.
Meanwhile, all international flights are said to have been barred from entering or leaving Nigeria from 12 midnight today.
A source at the International Airport who pleaded anonymity, disclosed that, “no international lights from mid night today. A circular to that effect was issued today by labour.’
The source who was on duty at the International Airport disclosed that ‘all the flights today were International flights. No local flight was allowed today in all the airports.”
