From Aruga Joe Omokaro, Haruna Tula – Abuja
Immediate past controversial Inspector-General of Police Kayode Egbetokun, whose regime was characterised with ripples, is said to be in murky waters and may drown.
Impeccable sources at the Force Headquarters (FHQ) and at the Presidency Abuja, hinted The SUPREME this morning that, there are several petitions of corruption against Kayode Egbetokun.
A source that refused to give details hinted that, there is a security item Egbetokun went abroad to purchase since last year (2025), “but l doubt if it has arrived Nigeria.”
Our source alleged that, “he (Egbetokun) claimed that the item has been paid for it since last year but surprisingly, the company (abroad) kept requesting for more money and he has been sending money (foreign currency) to the company.”
We further learnt that the Presidency had been uncomfortable with his constant request for foreign currency for the same item he claimed has been paid for.
“I don’t know what he was telling the Presidency that funds were still being released for the same item he claimed has been paid for.”
In our subsequent reports, we will disclose the identity of the item, the name of the company in abroad and how much was paid, and how much was released after the official payment.
We also learnt that, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has been receiving petitions of corruption against Kayode Egbetokun since last year 2025.
We also learnt that, the anti-graft agency is dusting the petitions, with a view to inviting him to defend himself on some of the allegations.
But spokesman of the EFCC Dele Oyewale told The SUPREME on phone this afternoon that, “l don’t have such briefing. ” When we requested for time for him to reach out to the EFCC Chairman on whether the Commission has been receiving petitions against Kayode Egbetokun, and if such petitions are currently being screened, he insisted that, “l told you l don’t have such briefing that is enough for your story.”
However, discrete investigations by The SUPREME reveal that the anti-graft agency will definitely invite Egbetokun for questioning over allegations of corruption.
There likelihood that, a group – Integrity Group – suspected to be unregistered that laundered Kayode Egbetokun’s battered image, may be screened by security agencies.
