The Inspector-General of Police (IGP) Olatunji Disu yesterday Monday 27/7/26, released deployment of about 10 Assistant Inspectors-General of Police (AIGs).
Those deployed are: AIG Nwonyi Polycarp Emeka now AIG in charge of Zone 9 Police Command, Umuahia; AIG Obono Nwaghe Itam is posted as Commandant Police Staff College Jos; AIG Bassey Samuel Ewah is now AIG in charge of Zone 15 Maiduguri. It is a Zone regarded as Boko Haram headquarters. He is immediate past Commissioner of Police Plateau State, a state infiltrated by bandits. AIG Ewah popularly referred to by police officers as Crocodile is IGP Disu’s course mate. Perhaps IGP Disu believes in him, in tackling insurgency in Borno State, after Ewah headed a suppose theatre of banditry (Plateau State).
The next AIG is, AIG Osagie John Agans-Irabor in charge of Zone 3 Yola; AIG Monday Agbonika now AIG Zone 5 Benin City; AIG Iyamah Daniel Edobor now AIG Department of Operations Force Headquarters Abuja; AIG Isah Danladi Nda now AIG Force CID Annex Kaduna; AIG Akaniyene Ifebem Ezima is now AIG NPF-CCC Force HQ Abuja; AIG Belo Rashid Afegbua now in charge of Zone 6 Calabar; AIG Betty Enekpem Otimenyin in charge of Zone 8 Lokoja.
The posting was contained in a wireless message signed by the Force Secretary dated 27/7/26.

Discrete investigations by The SUPREME Hower, reveal that, posting of Commissioners of Police (CPs) is being delayed as a result of intense lobbying by some state Governors and top politicians.
We gathered that, the signal posting the CPs and some AIGs as well as DCPs, ought to have been released last week Tuesday 21st July, after the decoration of newly promoted AIGs and CPs.
We further learnt that what delayed the postings is intrusion (lobbying) by some prominent Nigerians), who want their loyalists posted to places considered as juicy. We also learnt that, some top politicians (including some present and past Governors) also pleaded for some officers to be posted to certain states for their political interest.
We reliably that, apart from the top politicians’ intrusion, some retired senior police officers also made overtures on behalf of “their loyal boys” to be deployed to milky places.
