The Deputy Corps Marshal of Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) and head of delegation on National data harmonization on road crashes, DCM Charles Theophilus, with his members, paid a courtesy call on the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Ibrahim k. Idris on the 20th October, 2016 at Force Headquarters, Abuja.
While addressing the delegation, the IGP who was ably represented by the Deputy Inspector-General of Police in-charge of Finance and Administration, DIG Shuaibu Gambo stressed the importance of synergy among security agencies and other safety co-operate bodies, and further emphasized the need for Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) and the Nigeria Police Force to work harmoniously on how to improve the quality of life of Nigerians and also ensuring that all roads are safe and free for commuters. He assured the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) of support of Police personnel that will work with the agency in getting accurate data on road crashes.
In his remarks, Deputy Corps Marshal, Charles Theophilus, thanked the IGP for the great and warm reception and promised a good working relationship with the Nigeria Police Force, he noted the contradicting figure on road crashes which emanate from both agencies. He further stated that a portal has been designed to compute all road crashes within the country. Mr. Bo Yttergren, a World Bank consultant to the scheme accompanied the Deputy Corps Marshal to the Force Headquarters.
