Zamfara State Police Command says, on 10th February 2023, Police Tactical Operatives on confidence building/rescue mission operation along Tsafe – Kucheri – Yankara road successfully rescued a 20 year old Abdulrahman Abubakar, a native of Gwandu Emirate in Kebbi State.
The rescue of the victim is part of the Command’s ongoing effort to stem the tide of kidnappings and other related crimes in Zamfara State.
In the course of debriefing the victim, he informed the Police that he was abducted on Monday 7th February, 2023 in Gwandu by unidentified people on Motorcycles where he was taken to the forest and spent three (3) days in captivity. The victim was rushed to the Police clinic for medical check and thereafter re-United with his family/relations.
The Commissioner of Police CP Kolo Yusuf congratulated the rescued victim for regaining his freedom, and assures for Police continuous commitment to rescue other victims in captivity.
