In its continuous search and rescue operations aimed at rescuing all kidnapped victims that are currently in captivity at various bandit’s enclaves in the state Zanfara Police Command has rescued three kidnapped victims.
Spokesman of the command SP Mohammed Shehu said in a statement on Wednesday, March 9, 2022 that 8th March 2022, Police Tactical operatives deployed along Dansadau axis, while on rigorous Anti-Banditry Patrol, successfully rescued three Kidnapped victims including a female and under-aged boy who are natives of Kaduna state.
Shehu said two of the victims were abducted in their village, Tumburku in Giwa LGA of Kaduna state on 20th February 2022. While the underage victim was abducted from his village in Birnin Gwari LGA of Kaduna state about 2 years ago, and since then subjected to rearing animals for the bandits, before he was successfully rescued by the Police.
Victims were taken to the hospital where they received medical treatment before being debriefed by the Police detectives.
According to Shehu, the Commissioner of Police Zamfara State Command, CP Ayuba Elkanah commended the Police operatives for the successful rescue of the victims and tasked them to sustain the tempo. The CP further appreciates the state government’s support and encouragement to the security operatives in the state. Assuring members of the public that, the Police in collaboration with other security agencies will continue to work assiduously to ensure sustainable peace and security in the state.
