Delta Police Impound 21 Vehicles Over Traffic, Security Violations

From Monday Ochuko – Asaba

The Delta State Police Command, in its continued commitment to enforcing traffic regulations and improving public safety, has impounded twenty-one (21) vehicles during an intelligence-led enforcement operation conducted across Abraka and Ozoro.

Yesterday 21st July 2026, operatives on an enforcement patrol targeting traffic violation impounded 21 vehicles for various offences, including non-display of registration number plates, covered number plates, and expired vehicle particulars. The affected vehicles will be subjected to the appropriate legal and administrative processes.

The Commissioner of Police, CP Yemi Oyeniyi, reiterated that vehicles without proper identification or valid documentation pose significant security risks and can be exploited to facilitate criminal activities. The CP therefore urged motorists to comply with all extant traffic and vehicle registration regulations, warning that the command will continue intelligence-led enforcement operations across the State to promote public safety, strengthen security, and ensure strict compliance with the law.

Spokesman for the Command SP Bright Edafe confirmed the story.
