Adamawa Govt Records Huge Successes On Digital Transformation, E-governance

The Adamawa State Government has recorded tremendous achievements in the area of digital transformation and e-governance since the assumption of Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri in l office. The Special Adviser to the Governor on ICT and E-governance, Dr. Hammajam Adamu, revealed this during the Quarterly Ministerial Press Briefing, held at the government house, Yola recently.
He stated that in the past five years, Adamawa State has performed excellently in transforming the state digitally.
He highlighted some of the areas where the present administration has improved included: capacity building where one hundred youths and civil servants were trained on technical talent program, creation of the Adamawa State Information Technology Development Agency with the aim to advance ICT innovation, infrastructure, digital governance and to regulate ICT products and digital initiative across the state.

Revolutionizing governance to enhance technological development such as the creation of E-tax payments, receipts and billing system, land management, ground rents management system, land allocation; digital archive system, enhance grievance redress mechanism system, zero right of way (RoW) fee, carrier-neutral fiber rollout by BCM and NIGCOMSAT satellite broadband for rural connectivity.
Dr. Adamu underscores Governor Fintiri’s commitment in positioning the state for global recognition, stated that they are building partnerships with global technology giants such as Microsoft, AWS and HUAWEI with the goal to provide quality education, good health, infrastructure and innovation that will propel Adamawa State to greater height.

The ICT guru revealed that for optimal performance the state government has launched Adamawa Digital Academy at the NCC facility in Fufore with the plans of training Youths and civil servants on digital transformation.

He noted that the government is looking forward for the full rollout of OneGov platform, expansion of satellite enabled services, enhancement of startup funding and training programs with the purpose of building a digital Adamawa State.
