The All Progressives Congress (APC), governorship candidate, Olorogun Otega Emerhor, will on Monday February 2, mount the political podium at the Sapele Athletic Club to articulate his political manifesto to the good people of Sapele Local Government Area (LGA).
A statement by the Director of Media and Political Communication to the APC candidate, Dr. Fred Latimor Oghenesivbe said Emerhor considers Sapele LGA as one of the major political harvest grounds for the APC in the forthcoming general elections which is why specific socio-economic steps will be taken by the APC candidate to facilitate the overall development of the area.
He said the N10 billion which the APC governorship candidate promise to source and disburse as empowerment funds and Small Scale Businesses (SME)within his first one hundred days in office, if elected, is one of the numerous strategies which Olorogun Emerhor would be adopting to address the huge problems of joblessness and poverty caused by sixteen years of misrule and corruption by past political leaders in the state.
Dr. Oghenesivbe, said the Sapele LGA Campaign Rally on Monday would attract party supporters, youth, women and APC party faithful in Sapele axis and its environs.
He asserted that Olorogun Emerhor would defeat all the other gubernatorial candidates in the forthcoming gubernatorial elections because of the strong desire of Deltans to effect a change in government coupled with the fact that corruption and misappropriation of state funds had brought untold hardship and socio-economic retrogression to majority of Deltans.
In a related development, Emerhor has promised to take one million youth out of the unemployment market if he voted into power.
He made this promise at separate rallies held at Uvwie, Warri South and Warri South West local government areas of Delta State.
The APC candidate said as a business man, he knows how to manage businesses, promising to use his vast wealth of experience to revamp all moribund industries in the state.
The business mogul also promised to take care of the elderly in the state, saying they have been neglected for too long. He emphasized that he would create a social security system that will take care of the elderly ones.
On the need for all eligible voters to collect their Permanent Voters Cards (PVCs), Olorogun Emerhor urged the people of the state to collect their PVCs and make sure they vote for APC. He also charged them to ensure that they vote and protect their votes, stressing that they should not allow themselves to be intimidated by the ruling party.
The APC candidate called on Deltans to come out en-mass and vote for all APC candidates, noting that APC is the only party that can bring economic development to the state. He urged youth in the state to carry the campaign train of the party from door to door to enlightened the people about lofty socio-economic programmes of the APC.
Speaking to supporters who came out in their numbers to support the APC, the state chairman, Prophet Jones Erue, said PDP must be voted out of government because of the pains and agonies that the ruling party inflicted on Deltans in particular and Nigerians in general.
The APC Chieftain noted that the ruling party in the country has been feeding fat on the sweat of the people for the past 16 years which is why it is essential that Deltans mobilize with the APC to wrestle power from the PDP to facilitate economic prosperity that the people are yearning for.
On his part, the Deputy Governorship candidate to Emerhor, Mr. Thomas Obanum called on the people to support APC because it is the only party in the country that will save them from acute poverty, joblessness, pains and economic frustrations.
