Christmas: Delta Police Warns Against Fireworks

The Delta State Commissioner of Police CP Ari Muhammed Ali has warned that the ban on the use of fireworks is still in force. The CP further cautioned that the Command will enforce all the extant laws prohibiting the use of fireworks such as ‘knock-out’, ‘banger’ etc especially during this Yuletide season. Parents/Guardians are advised to guide their children and wards to desist from using them. Retailers of such goods are equally warned to withdraw from the sales of these products as anyone arrested will be prosecuted.

The CP said he has directed all Area Commanders, Divisional Police officers and Tactical Commanders to ensure strict compliance with the ban on fireworks in their respective Areas of Responsibility. Undercover Police Operatives have also been deployed for the purpose of arresting anyone found wanting.

The CP while assuring residents of their safety at all times also call on residents to continue to partner with the Police and other security agencies by providing useful information in their untiring efforts at providing a peaceful and secured environment for the all.
