Christmas: Edo CP Assures Adequate Security, <dr>● Warns Against Use Of Fireworks

The Commissioner of Police, Edo State Police Command, CP Muhammed A. Dankwara, has assured citizens and residents of Edo State that the Police and other law enforcement agencies in the state will ensure adequate security before, during, and after the Yuletide seasons.

The CP gave this assurance recently when he visited Chairman Christian Association of Nigeria (C.A.N), Bishop Oyenude Kure, and other Christian leaders at St. Paul’s Catholic Church, Airport Road, Benin City, Edo State.

He also seized the opportunity of the visit to congratulate all the Christian faithful in the state, as they celebrate Christmas.

Meanwhile, the CP enjoins citizens not to, under the pretext of celebrating the season, engage in any illegality, particularly the throwing or shooting of fireworks, also known as, ‘knockouts’, ‘rockets’, etc.

He warned that Police operatives of the command have been given specific instructions to clamp down on dealers of fireworks, those who patronize them, and the users, adding that anyone caught breaking the law would be brought to book accordingly.

Spokesman of the command, SP Chidi Nwabuzor confirmed the story
