Delta CP Oyeniyi Visits Effurun Area Command

The Commissioner of Police, Delta State Command, CP Yemi Oyeniyi, psc, on Tuesday, 30 June 2026, continued his familiarisation tour of Police formations across the State with a visit to the Effurun Area Command. The visit commenced with a courtesy call on His Royal Majesty Dr. Emmanuel Sideso, (Abe I,) the Ovie of Uvwie Kingdom, and concluded with an interactive session with police officers, men, and stakeholders.

During the courtesy visit, the CP commended the Ovie of Uvwie for his unwavering commitment to peace, security, and community development. He acknowledged the invaluable role of traditional institutions in supporting law enforcement and solicited the continued partnership of the Kingdom in strengthening intelligence gathering and promoting peaceful coexistence.

In his remarks, the monarch welcomed the Commissioner of Police and his entourage, reaffirmed commitment of the Uvwie Kingdom to supporting the Nigeria Police Force. He urged residents to continue cooperating with security agencies through the provision of timely and credible information.

Addressing officers and men of the Effurun Area Command as well as stakeholders, CP Yemi Oyeniyi, charged personnel to uphold the highest standards of professionalism, discipline, and integrity in the discharge of their duties. He warned that extortion, incivility to members of the public, and all fo.rms of unprofessional conduct would not be tolerated, stressing that respect for the fundamental rights of citizens remains non-negotiable. He urged officers to remain committed to intelligence-led policing, ethical conduct, and quality service delivery, noting that public trust is the foundation of effective policies.
