In a chat with The SUPREME this Sunday evening, the tough cop noted that, “if he (IGP) took prompt step to curtail the situation , otherwise, there would have been a serious protest.”
The former MILAD noted that, “the prompt action he took was what supposed to be done by any experienced officer,” to douse tension.
He, however, frowned at government’s inability to curtain insecurity.
AIG Oyakhire is a respected senior police officer, who transformed Jalingo the Taraba State capital from a glorified town into a city by structural development and connecting Jalingo to the national grid.
Also in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital, the ex-MILAD transformed the ancient city of Ibadan. And Oyo people will ever remember him for several outstanding achievements. Apart from structural development, he ensured that the city was cleared of debris. He curbed persisted fuel scarcity by setting up a task force on fuel distribution, and another task force to monitor the fuel task force, to ensure that fuel was not diverted.
