The Inspector-General of Police, Olutunji Disu, has approved redeployment of Assistant Inspectors-General of Police (AIGs) across key departments and formations of the Nigeria Police Force, in a move aimed at strengthening operational efficiency nationwide.
The directive, conveyed through a wireless message marked “Most Immediate” from Force Headquarters in Abuja, outlined the reassignment of senior officers to strategic commands and units across the country.
According to the signal, immediate past Lagos State Commissioner of Police, AIG Olohundare Moshood Jimoh is deployed to lead Zone 2 Police Command in Lagos, a highly strategic formation overseeing both Lagos and Ogun states.

Also affected is AIG Ado Emmanuel posted to the Department of Research and Planning at Force Headquarters, while AIG Joseph Eribo is to head Armament Unit. Similarly AIG Miller Dantawaye will now oversee Operations, and AIG Henry Ifeanyi Uche is deployed to Training and Development. In the same vein, AIG Olanrewaju Peter Ogunlowo is the new AIG Accounts and Budget Department, while AIG Dahiru Mohammed has been posted to Zone 15 Command Maiduguri. AIG Dankombo F. Morris is assigned to Zone 4 Command in Makurdi, and AIG Bello Shehu to Zone 14 Command in Katsina.
Other postings are: AIG Ibrahim Balarabe Maikaba to Legal Services, while AIG Ahmed Musa will head Community Policing.

Also affected by the reshuffle, is AIG Simeon U. Akpanudom who is to head the Force Criminal Investigation Department (FCID) Annex Alagbon in Lagos, while AIG Haruna Olufemi is to take charge of the Special Protection Unit at Force Headquarters.

The police high command directed all affected formations to update their records immediately, highlighting the urgency attached to the redeployments.
