In line with the welfare-driven leadership of the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu, the Commissioner of Police, Ogun State Command, CP Bode Ojajuni, has decorated 430 junior police officers recently promoted within the Command.

The promotion exercise held at the headquarters and every other formation within the state command comprised the decoration of 6 six Sergeants to the rank of Inspector, 4 four Corporals to the rank of Sergeant, and 420 Constables to the rank of Corporal, underscoring the Nigeria Police Force’s commitment to rewarding diligence, professionalism, and dedication to duty.

Speaking during the decoration ceremony, CP Bode Ojajuni described the promotions as a demonstration of the Inspector-General of Police’s unwavering commitment to the welfare, motivation, and career progression of personnel. He noted that timely promotion remains a critical tool for boosting morale and encouraging officers to remain steadfast in the discharge of their constitutional responsibilities.

The Commissioner congratulated the newly promoted officers and charged them to regard their elevation as a call to greater responsibility, discipline, professionalism, and renewed dedication to service. He urged them to uphold the core values of the Nigeria Police Force, discharge their duties with integrity, respect for human rights, and commitment to the rule of law.

CP Ojajuni further assured that the Ogun State Police Command remains committed to prioritising officers’ welfare and supporting initiatives geared towards strengthening institutional capacity, enhancing operational effectiveness, and promoting excellence in service delivery in line with global best practices in policing.

Also in Delta State, the Commissioner of Police, Delta State Command, CP Yemi Oyeniyi, decorated four hundred and fifty-seven (457) officers recently promoted from the rank of Police Constable to the rank of Corporal. The decoration ceremony, held at the Command Headquarters, Asaba, was attended by members of the Command Management Team, and other senior officers.

In his address, the Commissioner of Police congratulated the officers on their well-deserved promotion and described the advancement as a recognition of their dedication, discipline, loyalty, and commitment to duty.

He noted that promotion is a significant milestone in the career of every police officer and a testament to the confidence reposed in them by the leadership of the Nigeria Police Force. The CP reminded the newly promoted Corporals that elevation in rank comes with greater responsibilities and higher expectations. He charged them to remain steadfast in the discharge of their duties, uphold the highest standards of professionalism, integrity, and discipline, and continue to conduct themselves in a manner that reflects positively on the Force.

CP Yemi Oyeniyi, further urged the officers to remain committed to the vision of the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu. He emphasized the need for officers to respect the rights of citizens, deepen community engagement, and maintain the trust and confidence of the public in the course of their duties. He reiterated the Command’s commitment to personnel development, welfare, and merit-based career progression, noting that hard work, dedication, and exemplary conduct remain essential ingredients for advancement in the Nigeria Police Force.
