Two years after he had jumped bail, a suspected leader of a cult group in Oaogbo, simply identified as Taoreed Adebayo, popularly known as Small Rugged was e-arrested by men of security operatives in the state.
Adebayo was re-arrested along Ikirun-Osogbo road after being trailing him for several months.
Men of Special Anti cultism carried out the arrest of the cultist kingpin.
Speaking on condition of anonymity, an eyewitness said the policemen trailed the suspect to the area where he was arrested and took him to the police headquarters at Ring Road.
Small Rugged was said to be the leader of the Eiye Confraternity in Osun State and he was arrested and arraigned in court for committing several offences two years ago and was subsequently granted bail.
He was, however, reported to have jumped bail.
A police source said, “we have arrested Taoreed Adebayo, aka Small Rugged.
He was said have been evading arrest for the past two years that he was granted bail by the court.
“it is true that he is the leader of Eiye Confraternity in Osun State. He is also the operational partner of one Esubiyi who is presently in Ilesha Prison for cases of murder and armed robbery.
“Adebayo, Esubiyi and one late Hammed Olugbodi killed one Bode at Sadiat area in Osogbo and went away with some valuable items, including cash of N4million.
“They also killed one Adedeji at Tinumola Estate in Osogbo and shot one Ibidun Alaamu at Church Street in Osogbo and the victim lost his sight.”
The State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Folashade Odoro, confirmed the arrest.
She noted that the state Commissioner of Police, Mrs. Abiodun Ige was aware or the arrest, adding that investigation have commenced on the matter.
Odoro added that the Police boss in the state has also directed that the suspect be arraigned in court after proper investigation.
