The Police Service Commission (PSC) is said to have invited senior police officers for promotion interview slated for today Monday 15th June 2026.
Discrete investigations by The SUPREME revealed that, most of the invited officers arrived Abuja the venue for the interview since yesterday Sunday.
We reliably learnt that, 13 Commissioners of Police (CPs) are among those invited for the promotion interview. They are expected to be promoted to the next rank of Assistant Inspectors-General of Police (AIGs). We also learnt that, two of the CPs are course mates of the present Inspector-General of Police, IGP Tunji Disu.
Dependable sources at Force Headquarters (FHQ) Abuja and PSC disclosed that, in addition to the 13 CPs, about 18 Deputy Commissioners of Police (DCPs) have also been invited for the promotion interview.
Similarly, about 57 Chief Superintendents of Police (CSPs) are said to have also been invited for the interview.
It was not immediately known the exact figure of Assistant Commissioners of Police (ACPs) to be promoted to DCPs. But a source hinted that, they are above 30 ACPs.
Some officers who spoke to The SUPREME under anonimity, commended IGP Disu for ensuring that, “officers are not stagnated on one rank. When somebody is stagnant on one rank for years, he cannot put in his best, because he is demoralised. How many years will somebody serve before retirement that he will remain on one rank for eight to 10 years?” Another officer noted that “statutory (regular) promotions motivate officers to work harder and be patriotic.”
